Over 300,000 eucalyptus trees planted in 4 weeks
In July 2024, Timberwolf took on a bold challenge in Eganu, Western Australia, pushing the boundaries of landscape restoration. Over four weeks, a crew of five with shovels in hand planted 300,000 native eucalyptus trees across 1,534 hectares as part of a large-scale carbon offset initiative. The project set out not just to replant but to rehabilitate land degraded by cattle grazing and farming, requiring precision, resilience and an unwavering determination from the entire wolfpack.
The client’s original plan was to use machinery for planting, but the machine’s slow pace and inconsistent quality control proved ineffective, planting just 1,000 trees per day. The client got in touch with Timberwolf, who responded incredibly swiftly to the call-out, demonstrating their resourcefulness by quickly mobilising a wolfpack from Melbourne and Brisbane, tapping into their ready pool of planting crew to start the manual planting within just two business days.
Their highly skilled and flexible planting team, supported by field supervisors and project managers, quickly adapted to the challenge by leveraging their training and expertise. Their ability to work autonomously and efficiently enabled them to implement a solution with minimal disruption, making this swift action a game-changer.
Manual planting boosted rates up to 27,000 trees per day - almost tripling machine capabilities. Timberwolf’s strength lies in its ability to adapt on the fly. With a skilled team, quick response and expert project management, they restored momentum quickly and exceeded performance expectations.
The vast, remote land and challenging weather presented another challenge for the team to combat, while they covered up to 30 kilometres daily. Despite these hurdles, the project was completed on time, with the client praising the speed and quality of Timberwolf’s work, stating they were “very happy” with the results delivered by the Timberwolf crew.
The successful delivery of this project laid the foundation for a resilient ecosystem, transforming the land into a sustainable future. This is the Timberwolf advantage. They’re clever, adaptable, tough, tenacious, sharp and competitive. They tackle every challenge head-on and deliver results that speak for themselves.
